Dadi Hari, rightly called Ma, is an apostle of peace. She is the combination of so many wonderful qualities that to say she became a graduate at a very young age or a principal at younger age of 20 of Sant Mira’s School at Hyderabad Sind (now Pakistan), hardly matters now.

She was named “Hari,” by parents. Hari is a pious name of Lord Vishnu, meaning one who takes away our trouble and tribulations, radiating love and joy and singing the name Divine. Ma Hari has a magnetic force which makes you feel that here is a person reflecting a picture of modesty, which can enlighten in you, a rare peace of mind.

A brilliant student, she was involved in teaching for quite sometime, and displayed rare energy, enterprise and enthusiasm as a teacher. But her thoughts always involved her in the recollections and reflections of her Gurudev, Sadhu Vaswani. A symbol of truth, personification of purity, simplicity, serenity and love, Ma Hari is almost God personified.

Unperturbed and unaffected either by pleasure or pain, she is drenched in divinity and soaked in spirtualism. You feel spiritual vibrations of peace and harmony sitting near her lotus feet.

A person of rare devotion and dedication, Ma Hari has such a charming smile, that vanishes and melts all the sorrows and sufferings that you may experience before meeting her.

Ma Hari displays a rare kind of simplicity and service and never indicates any sense of egoism. In fact she is egoless. Her modesty is superb. Though quite reserved and sensitive, she is mostly involved in the prayer of her master in a separate section of the Mira building. Sadhu T L Vaswani’s extra ordinary personality has left an indelible impression on her mind. He became the hero in her childhood days whom she continues to worship till today. It is that formative influence of the Master which has shaped her character and encouraged her to devote time to prayers and selfless service.

Ma is also a creative and inspired writer and there is unique originality in her books. `Seeking God’, `Saint of Modern India,’ `Pathway of Paradise’, `Way to Heaven’, are a few of her writings. There is not only depth but diversity in her written words, which draws one closer to God.

Ma Hari is also a gifted orator and conveys through her simple and lucid talks, many intricacies of life. Many people today visit Ma to solve their personal problems which she quickly understands and solves them in her humble way.

Lately when she was hospitalised and I had the occasion to meet her soon thereafter, I found her with the same radiating love and unassuming manners. She behaved like a cool breeze on a warm sunny day.

Ma’s small room in the Sadhu Vaswani complex is like a temple reflecting simplicity, cleanliness, and beauty. Her simplicity is disarming. Her charity is silent beneficiary to enormous recipients.

Ma hears more than she talks and when she talks those few words of wisdom can be woven as a necklace of diamonds.
