MUMBAI, JULY 14: Aptech Ltd has reported a 41.5 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 19.44 crore for the half year ended June 30, 1999. Income from operations during the period recorded 26.62 per cent increase to Rs 152.66 crore.

The gross profit has shown a steep increase of 50 per cent from 19.55 crore to Rs 29.33 crore. The company has provided a much higher depreciation of Rs 6.50 crore as compared to Rs 3.21 crore and tax provision of Rs 3.10 crore compared to Rs 2.60 crore in the previous half. The earning per share (EPS) works out to Rs 31.08 (on enhanced equity capital) as compared to Rs 24.60 for the previous half.

According to Aptech chairman Atul Nishar, the company’s software groups have bagged new clients and orders in the US, Europe, Australia, Gulf and south-east Asia during the year.

With this, the revenue from software division has grown by 81.7 per cent to Rs 24.32 crore against Rs 13.38 crore during the same period last year.

It has made a foray into the education and training areas ofcountries like Saudi Arabia, Dubai and China.
