Arms licence holders to give details by May 27

CHANDIGARH, May 12: UT District Magistrate M. Ramsekhar has directed all firearm licence holders in the Union Territory to supply information in writing about the arms in their possession to the respective police stations within 15 days.

In an order issued here today under Section 144 of the CrPC, the DM has stated that such information should be submitted to the respective police stations by May 27, failing which action under Section 188 IPC would be initiated against the defaulters. The orders were passed after it was found that arms licence holders were not supplying such information pertaining to the arms possessed by them to the police, which may pose a potential threat to the law and order situation in the city.
