CHANDIGARH, Sept 27: Prof P.P. Arya of the University Business School, Panjab University, has been nominated to the PU Senate in his capacity as the president of Punjab University Teachers Association. A statement released by PUTA secretary Harjinder Singh said that his nomination has been done by Chancellor Krishna Kant, the Vice-President of India, in place of PUTA's outgoing president Dr Satya Pal Gautam.Meanwhile, the former president of the Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union (PCCTU), Charanjit Chawla, today demanded that seats in the Senate meant for college teachers should remain with college teachers. In a statement today, he demanded that the Senate seats for teachers of Haryana colleges which have been cancelled should be transferred to of various colleges of Punjab.
