GUWAHATI, SEPT 28: Assam Government on Tuesday urged the banned United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) to give up violence and resolve their grievances in a democratic manner.
In a statement issued here, the state government said it favoured a peaceful resolve of the crisis and denied that it had issued any order on the secret killing of ULFA leaders as reported in a section of the local media.

“The government does not have the sick mentality like the ULFA that they will stoop to their level and indulge in such unlawful activities,” the statement said.
