NCP leader Sharad Pawar on Thursday made light of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance’s alleged move to poach disgruntled elements from the Congress-NCP camp, saying it showed that the saffron alliance did not have candidates of their own. He also said this would have no impact on the ruling front’s electoral prospects.‘‘At the most, one or two seats may change hands,’’ Pawar said at Baramati Hostel here early this morning. He was in the city to attend a couple of functions, including the annual meet of the State Grapes Growers Federation. On the Shiv Sena-BJP’s making Veer Savarkar a poll issue, Pawar said he does not need to respond to that. ‘‘What Savarkar’s relatives have to say about the saffron combine is sufficient,’’ he said. He also said Uma Bharti’s ‘Tiranga Yatra’ had little impact in the state. On the ongoing seat-sharing talks between the Congress and the NCP, Pawar said he was not a part of the dialogue process. ‘‘Both parties have entrusted the responsibility to their representatives and a final decision may come tonight or tomorrow,’’ he said. The need to take the dialogue to New Delhi would not arise as only limited issues concerning certain seats now exist, he added. However, he was optimistic about the Democratic Front regaining power in the state. To a question regarding the move by partners, Janata Dal and Republican Party of India, to work out their own plans, Pawar said both the parties were good friends of the NCP-Congress. But, for now, discussions were focussed on sorting out issues between the NCP and the Congress.
