SYDNEY, FEB 8: Pace bowlers Adam Dale and Andrew Bichel were named today for Australia’s cricket tour to the West Indies. The two Queenslanders were the surprise inclusions in the 15-man Australian squad for the tour. The Australians arrive in Antigua on February 19 to play four Tests and seven One-Dayers.
Dale and Bichel joined pace bowlers Glenn McGrath, Jason Gillespie and the versatile Colin Miller in a seven-man bowling attack supported by leg-spinners Shane Warne and Stuart Macgill.
Australia’s wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist failed to win a berth as a batsman despite his record-breaking innings of 154 in Australia’s win over Sri Lanka yesterday.
