NEW DELHI, January 25: Seven Delhi Police officers have been awarded Police Medals for distinguished and meritorious service.The awardees for distinguished service include Amod Kumar Kanth, Joint Commissioner of Police and Inspector R.S. Jakhar.Amod Kumar Kanth is presently Joint Commissioner of Police, Southern Range. An IPS officer of the 1974 batch, he received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1986 and the Police Medal for Gallantry. Inspector Rajbir Singh Jhakar is presently SHO, Malviya Nagar. He joined the Delhi Police in 1972 as a sub-inspector. He was also awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 1993. Police Medals for Meritorious Service have been awarded to five officials. Harbans Singh is presently posted as ACP, Special Cell. He joined the Delhi Police as a sub-inspector in 1970.Inspector Chaman Lal Santoshi is presently posted in the Special Branch. He joined the Delhi Police in 1965 as a constable Sub-Inspector Sahender Pal Singh is presently in the Police Control Room. He joined the Delhi Police in 1972 as a constable. He has been granted 3 Commendation Rolls, 28 Commendation Certificates and 177 Commendation Cards. Sub-Inspector Naresh Kumar Nijhawan is presently in the Communication Unit. He joined the Delhi Police in 1976 as a constable. Head Constable Rohtas Singh is presently posted in the Personnel Section of CP, Delhi. He joined the Delhi Police in 1977 as a constable.
