Ayodhya: Driver’s brother goes missing

Ahsan Ahmed, the elder brother of Rehan, the driver who was allegedly involved in the Ayodhya blast and had ferried the five terrorists to the disputed site, has gone missing since July 7 — two days after the attack.

According to Haridwar Senior SSP Abhinav Kumar, Ahsan Ahmed was a civil engineer working at a Roorkie site for the Era Construction Company. He shared a rented accommodation with another engineer of the company.

Ahmed’s colleagues said he was upset after Rehan’s arrest and took three days leave for going home to Kanpur. But he never reached home.

‘‘As there was no request from the UP police to detain him, we allowed him to go and informed the UP police about his departure,’’ Kumar said.
