Narotam Singh Dhillon, nephew of former Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal, who was arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has now been charged with having links with terrorists and the ISI. That is not all. He is also accused of possessing illegal arms and explosives, which he reportedly supplies and distributes, apart from running a hawala racket. The FIR registered by the Punjab Police at Muktsar further accuses him of carrying out narcotics and fake currency rackets — all, of course, with the aid of the ISI. The FIR also calls for an early raid on Narotam’s house. All this has come to light courtesy a special secret information, courtesy a mukhbar (informer). The FIR lodged at Lambi police station has been lodged by ASI Jaspal Singh who quotes his mukhbar at two different places in the FIR.Narotam’s elder brother Mohinder Singh Dhillon terms the FIR as a classic case of political vendetta. ‘‘We have been nambardaars of our village for nearly 100 years, and everybody knows us,’’ he says.
