The three-day talks between India and Pakistan to discuss the construction of a 450 MW power project on the Chenab in Baglihar, J-K, ended on Sunday without a consensus.An Indian delegation, headed by D.K. Mehta, chief of the Indian chapter of Indus Water Commission, held talks with Pakistan to discuss the latter’s objections to the construction of a hydro-electric project at Baglihar. It had alleged the project was being constructed in violation of the Indus Water Treaty, which gave it exclusive rights to Chenab’s waters and the gateways would withhold the flow of water to Pakistan. —(PTI)
