Armed dacoits today robbed passengers and molested women travelling in the New Delhi-bound Hatia-Pathankot Express between Tori and Chetar stations.
The dacoits, also shot dead a constable of the General Railway Police (GRP) Kailash Yadav and Lance Dafedar of the Indian Army’s Namkom-based Central India Horse (CIH) Hriday S. Dubey. Another GRP constable Basuki Yadav was also injured.
According to reports, around 20-30 men — dressed in police uniform and armed with revolvers and pistols — boarded the train and after it pulled out of Tori, they started robbing passengers. By the time the train pulled into Daltongunj and the police arrived, Kailash and Dubey were dead and Basuki Yadav was bleeding profusely from a bullet wound.
As many as 50 passengers had been robbed of their cash and valuables.
