After being sent in to bat by West Indies captain Ramnaresh Sarwan in the first ODI here, Bangladesh seemed headed for another total of less than 100, but their innings was revived by an unbeaten ninth wicket partnership of 62 between Mohammed Rafique and Khaled Mashud.
First at five for three and later at six for 52, the writing appeared on the wall for the minnows, but the lower order put their heads down to take the team to respectability. Mashud ended on 30 and Rafique on 32 as Tino Best returned the best figures for West Indies with four for 35.
Brief scores
