The CPI(M) on Friday once again picked Jyoti Basu to lambast the Centre over hike in prices of petroleum products.
Basu said the rollback would be decided upon after discussion with his party’s Central leaders. The Left has threatened to take to the streets against the move. The CPI today asked the government to ‘‘reconsider the decision and make oil companies share the burden.’’
Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh said the party was being forced to support the government which held no consultations on the issue. BJP general secretary Rajnath Singh said LPG hike would lead to hoarding and black marketing.
