Faced with a paucity of top class wicket-keepers, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to requisite the services of former Australian stumper Rodney Marsh to hone the talent currently available.

The first camp under this programme will be held at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore from June 27 to July 6 under Marsh and former Indian stumper Syed Kirmani, BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said here today.

The national selection committee has selected 10 wicket-keepers, including Deep Dasgupta and Ajay Ratra, currently with the Indian team in the West Indies, for the first phase of training. Dalmiya clarified that exemption from attending the camp would be granted only if someone is on national duty or has an injury. He also said that since the sessions of NCA and Zonal Cricket Academies will also be in progress at the same time, the wicket-keeper trainees of NCA and ZCA who were not in the list could also take advantage of the training.
