
Bhutan believes its time to move on from the debate on rebel camps running from its soil and focus on economic development of the region. Speaking here today, Dashu Tsering Wangda, joint secretary (home and culture) of the Royal Government of Bhutan, said, “That is (rebel camps) a thing of the past. Let us talk about sharing fruits of economic cooperation.”
Wrapping up his three-day trip to Guwahati, during which a delegation of Bhutanese officials discussed various bilateral issues with the Assam, Wangda said his country was keen on improving economic relationship with the region. “We want to enhance the scale of trade and commerce with India, more particularly with Assam….As far as Assam is concerned, we have a lot to offer by way of economic activities,” Wangda said.
