Sources indicated that the letter shot by ICL authorities to IPL franchise team owners on Tuesday — stating that bidding for Yousuf in the auction would lead to legal implications — had forced team owners to look the other way.As a surprise, former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath also remained unsold. McGrath was touted to be one of the prized picks for the IPL teams.Both, Yousuf and McGrath, were pitched at a reserve price of US$250000.West Indies cricketers Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivrarine Chanderpaul, South Africans Ashwell Prince and Loots Bosman and Australians Simon Katich and Justin Langer — all remained unsold.
