PATNA, July 18: Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav will take a formal decision on the issue of the resignation of the three Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Ministers from the Union Cabinet only after the July 25 meeting of the United Front (UF) steering committee.Laloo virtually committed a faux pas in the morning, instructing the three ministers resign. After a talk with Dravid Munnetra Kazagham (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi, who told him that the UF steering committee had not taken any decision on the RJD Ministers, Laloo changed his stand and asked the Ministers not to give up their posts.Laloo then blamed UF spokesman Jaipal Reddy for coming out with a misleading statement.Talking to newspersons, Laloo lamented the blunder he committed in making Deve Gowda Prime Minister. ``Gowda is a stooge of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),'' he said.About Janata Dal (JD) president Sharad Yadav, Laloo said Sharad had been chargesheeted in the hawala case and he was still continuing as JD president. ``He has no moral right to ask anyone to resign,'' the CM said.Laloo said he was no more interested in his party joining the UF. ``It is immaterial whether the RJD is in the UF or outside. How can a chargesheeted person prevent me or my party from joining the UF?'' he asked.Laloo was equally critical of Communist Party (Marxist) general secretary Harkishen Singh Surjeet.Meanwhile, according to agencies, during a seminar on the women's reservation Bill and electoral reforms in New Delhi, Prime Minister I K Gujral said he was not in a position to do anything about chargesheeted politicians who were not ready to quit their positions, despite the Centre having wide-ranging powers, including imposition of President's Rule.Without naming Laloo, the Prime Minister said, ``What can be done in a situation where despite open appeals, political leaders involved in legal cases don't leave their seats?''
