Bihar cops charged with rape in custody

The woman said she was picked up by police for a murder and kept in the lock-up of Dhalpura police outpost on September 9, where she was forced to drink and raped by the two constables. She was later moved to Beur Central Jail where she reported the matter to the jail doctor.

Sub-Inspector D. Pathak, the investigating officer in the murder case, said the allegations of rape were false and she was a declared absconder in the case and was arrested after she surfaced last week. DM Gautam Goswami said the woman had been sent for medical examination.
