Sixteen of the 20 accused in the Bilkis Yakoob Rasool gangrape-cum-murder case of the post-Godhra riots were sent to judicial custody till May 18 by a local court here today. Chief Judicial Magistrate (Ahmedabad Rural) S.M. Padhya sent the 16 to judicial custody after they were produced before the court.

The two policemen, who had surrendered before the court yesterday, have already been sent to judicial custody till May 18.

The 16, include a doctor couple, four policemen and two BJP leaders from Dahod.
