Chandigarh, April 8: Former president of Board of Control for Cricket in India Inderjit Singh Bindra has demanded a probe into the recent allegations of match-fixing involving South Africans, including captain Hansie Cronje, in the one-day series in India from March 9 to 19.The Delhi Police has registered a case against Hansie Cronje, teammates Herschelles Gibbs, Nicky Boje, Pieter Strydom and Henry Williams, allegedly involved in betting during the India-South Africa one-day series last month. The police has also arrested London-based Indian bookie Sanjeev Chawla in a case of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy.CAPE TOWN: Opener Herschelle Gibbs termed as ``nonsense'' and ``ludicrous'' accusations of match fixing against him. ``That's nonesense, completely ludicrous,'' said Gibbs, who was unsure of what steps to take next. ``I really don't know. What does a person do when something like this happens?''South African team manager Goolam Raja called the issue ``one big joke''. Expressing his ``absolute surprise,'' he said, ``I don't know where such a story could come from.''Dr Ali Bacher, managing director of the United CricketBoard of South Africa, stood staunchly behind Cronje. ``He is a man of unimpeachable integrity and honesty and the Board is standing four square behind him,'' he said.
