Bischof wins men’s -81kg judo gold

Former European champion Ole Bischof of Germany won the men's -81kg gold at the Beijing Olympics on Tuesday.

Former European champion Ole Bischof of Germany won the men’s -81kg gold at the Beijing Olympics on Tuesday.

Bischof beat Asian champion Kim Jae Bum of South Korea in the final by a small yuko score, earned off a foot sweep (kouchi-gari).

World champion Tiago Camilo of Brazil won bronze as he beat his predecessor as global laureate Guillhaume Elmont of the Netherlands.

Ukraine’s Roman Gontyuk added Beijing bronze to the silver he won in Athens four years ago as he beat Mongolia’s Damdinsuren Nyamkhuu.
