While the Left cried wolf over the presence of foreign advisors with the Planning Commission, the BJP here today sought to know why the Commission had allowed Leftist economists, some of them activists of Communist parties, to dominate its bodies.‘‘By letting Leftist economists monopolise advisory inputs to the Planning Commission and even to play an overtly political role, the UPA Government has shown how vulnerable to Communist pressure it has become,’’ BJP spokesman and former finance minister Yashwant Sinha said. The BJP wasn’t opposed to involving foreign experts for ‘‘consultations’’, he said. ‘‘It is neither prudent nor necessary to elevate their involvement .whereby they become part of the decision-making process.’’ Sinha said the BJP felt the Centre and states should be free to obtain the best available advice from within the country and internationally on issues of progress and economic growth.
