The BJP’s manifesto for the Gujarat Assembly election, released here on Friday, claims that in the next five years, the party will ensure reservation for SCs, STs and Other Backward Classes in the minority-run institutions of the state.
As of now, there is provision to recruit reserved category candidates in the institutions run by Christian and Muslim managements. “Necessary action will be taken to ensure implementation of the reservation policy of the Government in such institutions taking advantage of all other regular benefits,” the manifesto says.
Though the manifesto is totally silent on the issues of minorities in the state, party in-charge for the Gujarat polls, Arun Jaitley, said the manifesto talks of all inclusive growth, and in the process embraces every one in the society.
