An explosion rocked the Srinagar municipal corporation building today, triggering panic in the area. Official sources said explosives kept in a bathroom on the third floor of the building at Bal Garden went off around 11.25 am, shattering all the window panes. No one was injured in the explosion, they added. The building is located near several government and police establishments, including offices of the director-general of police and the inspector-general of police. Towards the afternoon, some militants shot at and injured two persons, Abdul Rashid Dar and his nephew Imtiyaz Ahmad Pahloo, at Babadamb in downtown Srinagar.
