
MUMBAI, DEC17: Despite being bowled out for 191, Bank of India did well to restrict Bank of Maharashtra to 201 on the second day of the three-day Times Shield Division A cricket tournament at the Azad maidan, today. At draw of stumps, Bank of India were 106 for no loss.

Bhilare, Bhurke lead: Ganesh Bhilare and Abhijit Bhurke jointly lead the field in the Senior Division chess tournament organised by the Bombay Chess Association at the Zandu Pharmaceutical Canteen, today.
Eleventh seed Bhurke of Podar Junior College outwitted second seed Shuhas Pednekar while tenth seed Bhilare beat blind player Vilesh Bhat. Close behind the leaders on 3.5 points each are Subhash Honmurgi, Deepak Tandel, R Durai, Kiran Pitale and schoolboy Kartik Vishwanathan.
MPT win: Mumbai Port Trust (MPT) outclassed Tata Electric 6-0 in a BHA First Division hockey league match at the Mahindra Stadium, today. Stout defence by Tata Electric restricted MPT to just one by the break but the winners ran riot after the change of ends.
As Tata Electric players tired, Salauddin Siddiqui struck again followed by Javed Shaikh, Digvijay Naik, Mumtaz Ahmed and Abhijit Shirsat.
