A bomb exploded near the Indian Consulate in Jalalabad in Afghanistan on Thursday night but no one was injured in the incident, official sources said in Delhi on Friday.

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was thrown near the consulate by some unidentified persons, suspected to be Taliban, the sources said.

All the staffers at the Indian Mission were safe and there was no damage to the consulate building either, they said.
