Sugary Dia Mirza is all repackaged as a sexy stripper who falls for a bored rich guy in Mahesh Bhatt’s Tumsa Nahin Dekha, a desi version of (yawn) Pretty Woman. ‘‘Whenever you cast people against their expected mould, you titillate the audience,’’ says Bhatt when you ask him whether the girl-to-goddess transformation will raise temperatures.
Apparently, camp scorchers Bipasha Basu and Mallika Sherawat were not considered because ‘‘they are too obvious’’. Bhatt draws an analogy between Mirza and a puppy. ‘‘Dia will make your heart go out. Just like you can’t see a beautiful puppy rolling in the muck, you would want Dia to get out of her muck.’’ Of course, before she clambers out, there’s long lip lock and this raunchy striptease.
