‘‘It’s a very mild kiss, there’s no tongue,’’ says director Soni Razdan of the smooch in her debut movie Nazar, which was felt all the way in Pakistan. While local beauties (including record holders Mallika Sherawat —17, Payal Rohatgi—32) are content to line up for the liplock, Pakistani starlet Meera claims her kiss with co-star Ashmit Patel didn’t go down well at home. She says she even got death threats.

While the drama unfolds, Meera maintains her silence in a Mumbai hotel room and Razdan says she can’t understand what the fuss is all about. ‘‘I won’t edit the kiss until someone puts a gun to my head.’’ she laughs. As for the lovemaking scenes, ‘‘there is nothing of that sort. It’s just an intimate moment,’’ says Razdan. We all know what those can lead to.
