British boxer Amir Khan was fined 1,000 pounds ($ 1,970) and banned from driving for 42 days after he was found guilty Monday of speeding on a motorway. Khan, the Commonwealth lightweight champion who won a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, was alleged to have been traveling 250 kmph on December 31.
Khan denied the charge. The judge at Rochdale Magistrates’ Court in northwest England ruled that there was not enough evidence.
