Reversing the upward trend of the last three sessions, the BSE’s 30-share Sensex ended 67.20 points down on Monday, settling at 18,048.05. The broader S&P CNX Nifty of the NSE also eased by 26.00 points to 5,276.90. Observers said the key index moved in tandem with global cues during the day. The rupee posted a further steep loss of 10 paise to close at 39.77/78, its lowest in more than 10 weeks, against the greenback on continuing heavy demand for dollar. The rupee premiums on forward dollar also dropped sharply.
