
JALANDHAR, Nov 30: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Punjab has reviewed the border domination efforts across the 553 km long border with Pakistan to ward off the concerted efforts by the ISI of Pakistan in collusion with the Sikh militant leaders in Pakistan to push ultras into the Indian territory.A BSF communique said here that the BSF was very vigilant against the nefarious designs of the ISI to foment trouble in the border state. He said the border domination efforts during day as well as night were being periodically reviewed.
The communique also said that last year the Punjab border had recorded a decline in the attempts of border crossing from Pakistan owing to “adequate domination” of the international border.
The number of Pakistan intruders killed this year on the border was 10 as compared to 17 last year. Similarly, the number of Pakistani intruders apprehended was 33 this year as compared to 35 last year.
Since 1996, 33 Pakistani intruders had been shot dead on the international border with Punjab while 93 had been apprehended.
