Even as the uproar inside the Uttar Pradesh Assembly continued, the BSP and Congress legislators blocked the movement of Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey from the hall to his chamber for nearly half-an-hour on Wednesday afternoon.
They were on a dharna outside the Assembly hall, demanding that their BJP counterparts be pulled away from the Well to ensure smooth functioning of the session.
This morning, the BJP legislators trooped into the Well, apparently without showing any reason. The BSP lodged a protest, and when the BJP members refused to move, its flock stormed out of the hall, only to squat on the aisle. Soon, the Congress joined its BSP counterparts outside. Even the ruling SP agreed. The Speaker was forced to convene another all-party meet, second within a span of two hours, to end the impasse.
