Butt charged for criticizing umpire

Pakistan’s vice captain, Salman Butt has been charged with a level two offence for criticising umpiring decisions at press conferences during the ongoing test series against South Africa.

Match referee, Alan Hurt charged Butt with public criticism and inappropriate comment on a match related incident or match official.

The penalty prescribed for the offence is a fine of 50 per cent of the player’s match fees or upto their full match fees and or a one test or two one day matches ban.
