Four people working for a Pakistan cable company have been detained for airing an Indian film, Hero, which is prohibited under law, officials said on Tuesday, despite a thaw in relations between the two neighbours. The four men are accused of violating the sovereignty of the country by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, which barred Indian channels from being shown on Pakistani cable television in 2002. The four appeared in court on Tuesday and the judge allowed the police one day to interrogate them. ‘‘This movie had propaganda against our Army, and we have filed a treason case,’’ said Khuram Sadiqui, a police official.(Agencies)
