BIHARSHARIF (Bihar), Oct 8: The situation in strife-torn Biharsharif town is gradually returning to normal with no untoward incident reported since yesterday from any part of the town, official sources said today.
District magistrate AK Singh said majority of the shops opened today even as security forces continued to patrol the streets. A peace march by top civil and police officers, social workers and distinguished people was taken out to instil confidence in the people.

Police said 77 people have been arrested so far for fomenting trouble in the town, which witnessed communal tension since October three over the route taken for immersion of Durga idol that claimed three lives and injury to four persons.
