VANCOUVER (BRITISH COLUMBIA), July 22: Thirteen years after the explosion of a jetliner flying from Montreal to New Delhi killed 329 people in an attack linked to Sikh militants, prosecutors have been given a summary of evidence collected by the Canadian police, a police spokesman has said.

But the official of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police declined yesterday to divulge the summary’s content or say when it was filed. Nor would he predict when the 20-member task force would complete its full brief for the prosecution.

“We are avoiding comment on the nature of the cases in order to protect the integrity of the case for future prosecutions,” RCMP sergeant Russ Grabb said.

Air India Flight 182 from Montreal to New Delhi via London blew up off the coast of Ireland on June 23, 1985 killing all 329 people on board, 278 of whom were Canadians.
