MUMBAI, DEC 9: The CBI raided the residences of two former directors of the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), P P Radhakrishnan and S P Mohile, on grounds of corruption and cheating on Tuesday.
The sleuths also raided the office of Powai Developers Private Limited and Mohile’s office in the premises of Karmahom Conference at Ballard Estate. According to the FIR filed by the CBI in the special court, Radhakrishnan and Mohile allegedly conspired with Gopal Raheja, Chandru Raheja and Ravi Raheja of Powai Developers to cheat the SCI by allowing the company to use a part of the land meant for the Marine Training Institute of the SCI at Powai.
The allegations relate to the period 1991-95. The FIR maintained that the accused public servants were not authorised to permit the use of the land to private parties. In fact, an extension of the permission was given virtually days before the superannuation of Radhakrishnan.
