While Madhumani, wife of jailed Samajwadi Party leader and prime accused in the murder of Madhumita Shukla, Amar Mani Tripathi, continued to evade arrest, the CBI today recovered the murder weapon allegedly used by Prakash Chand Pandey to kill the poetess. Meanwhile, the CBI team went to Tripathi’s Gorakhpur residence today in search of his wife Madhumani, who has been served a notice to surface within the next 48 hours. Pandey led CBI officials to one Pinku who handed them the weapon. Pandey had bought the revolver from one Kalu, who in turn had got it from Pinku, the CBI said. While four persons have been arrested so far, 14 are listed for abetment in either hatching the plot or tampering with proof.
