The CBI today told the Delhi High Court that the Additional Solicitor General would appear before it to explain the inclusion of Bhupender Singh Patel alias Rahul as an accused in the cash-on-camera scam. Rahul has been named an accused in the cash-on-camera scam involving former Union minister Dilip Singh Judeo last year.

After CBI counsel A.P.S. Ahluwalia made the submission, Justice S.K. Agarwal adjourned the case hearing to September 28 as the ASG was not available to begin arguments. The court had last week asked the CBI to explain what offence has been committed by Rahul, who conducted a sting operation against Judeo.

Rahul and his associates Arvind Vijay Mohan and Praveen Jain have sought that the CBI FIR against them be quashed. Judeo and his then personal secretary Natwar Rateria are the main accused in the cash-on-camera scam case.
