CD: VP Singh seeks BJP derecognition

Former PM V P Singh’s Jan Morcha on Thursday petitioned the Election Commission seeking BJP’s derecognition for distributing “communal” CDs. Singh met CEC N Gopalaswami here and complained that the campaign CDs brought by the BJP have “vitiated the atmosphere” in the state, which heads for UP Assembly polls this month.

He also demanded action against those responsible for bringing out the CD aimed at spreading “communal poison” in the state for reaping electoral gains.BJP has already withdrawn the controversial CD, brought out by its state unit’s cultural cell in Lucknow.
