Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission has once again landed in controversy with its acting Chairman being accused of corruption in the admission and interview processes.Chhattisgarh Finance Commission Chairman Virendra Pandey, has in a police complaint charged the acting Chairman of the state PSC, Khelanram Jangdre, and another member, Amol Singh Salaam, of misusing their positions. The Chairman, Ashok Darbari, a retired Director General of Police, was placed under suspension following charges of irregularity in the 2003 examination. In his complaint, Pandey has said that the two have misused their posts by releasing a set of questions, to be asked during the interview, in advance to select candidates.Jangde denied the charges levelled against him by Pandey, PSC candidate Jay Prakash Patel and his father Tula Ram Patel. “During my tenure, there has been no allegations of any malpractices against me,” he said.“All examinations and selections were done with complete transparency. The charges are being levelled against me to defame me as my term ended on Saturday,” he said.Putting forth his side of the story, he said that even his own daughter did not qualify in PSC examination this year. However, Pandey presented a CD in which Jangde reportedly demanded money from a candidate for selection to the PSC. Pandey said it was evident from the CD that Jangde and Salaam were hand-in-glove. “The questions given out were in Salaam’s own handwriting,” Pandey said. He added that the two took money but did not pass the candidate.
