Harare, December 7: Rain washed out fourth day’s play in the third and final cricket Test between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka today. Water had seeped through covers overnight after rain stopped play on the third afternoon yesterday.

But poor light and drizzle would have prevented a resumption today in any case. Umpires Ian Robinson (Zimbabwe) and S Venkatraghvan (India) decided to call off play after inspection.

Zimbabwe scored 218 in their first innings while Lanka replied with 231. In their second innings, Zimbabwe, trailing 0-1 in the series, were 48-2.
