Medical camp organised
A free medical camp for children was organised by the Sector 31 branch of the State Bank of India, in collaboration with the Government Medical College, Sector 32, today. Besides administrating polio drops to a large number of infants, about 125 children were also examined for various ailments.
Moped stolen from Sector 17
A moped theft was reported to the City police yesterday evening. According to sources, one C.D. Sharma reported that his Luna, bearing registration number CHB 4203, was stolen from outside the General Post Office in Sector 17. The police have registered a case.
Jewellery, cash stolen
The theft of a jewellery set and Rs 4,000 was reported to the police by a Delhi resident. According to sources, the complainant, Ravi Raj Singh Sodhi, had parked his car near Makhan Shah Lubhana Bhavan, in Sector 30, when the theft occurred. The car was unlocked, when the theft took place. The police have registered a case of theft and are carrying out investigation. No arrests have been made so far.
ABVP to celebrate Youth Fortnight
“Youth fortnight” will be celebrated by the City unit of the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) from January 12, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, till January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chander Bose. A blood donation camp will be organised on January 23 at the Students Centre on the Panjab University campus. According to press secretary of the ABVP Vikas Bhatti, an exhibition to highlight issues concerning youth will also be organised.
