New telecom policy adopted The government today announced the uplinking policy for broadcasters, proposed to amend the Cable Television Regulation Act, 1995 and adopted the new telecom policy in an effort to regulate the billion dollar broadcasting trade in the country. The government decided to strengthen the role of TRAI by assigning it the arbitration function for resolution of disputes.
