WSC panel to resolve clergy crisis
It was a collective effort in taking the initiative to resolve the crisis in the Sikh religio-political affairs at the special session of the World Sikh Council here today under the leadership of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Gurcharan Singh Tohra, a report says. The general house of the Council authorised the SGPC chief to set up a committee to go into the accounts of organisation.

No decision on CTBT yet
India has not yet decided to sign the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty nor it is indulging in any bargain for lifting of sanctions but it is looking forward to outcome of the talks with key interlocutors on the issue, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee said today, a report says. “No decision has been taken on signing the CTBT. It will depend on future talks (with key interlocutors),” Vajpayee told reporters on his way back from Paris.

Lankan army admits loss
As the army authorities continued to identify truck-loads of decomposed bodies of soldiers, Sri Lanka officially admitted today that it had lost Killinochchi to the Tamil Tigers earlier this week in the bloodiest fighting in two years which left at least 400 soldiers dead and several hundred wounded, a report from Colombo said.
