Orders on defacement of property
AMBALA, January 18: Any political party, a party candidate or his supporters attempting to put flags and banners or paste posters and slogans on any of the public or private land would be liable for prosecution under the Property Defacement Prevention Act.
The restrictions, imposed by District Magistrate Dheera Khandelwal, prohibit all political parties, associations, candidates and public in general from defacing public property. The violators would be booked under Sections 425, 426, 427, 433 of the IPC and under the Criminal Procedure Code and Municipal Law.
The order also warns of action against those misusing the sign boards, milestones and other indicators on the highways, railway stations and general bus stands during the election period. The SDMs Ambala and Naraingarh would act as enforcement magistrates for the implementation of these orders.
Special police force would also be deployed in each of the police stations in the district. The order further says that flying squads would be created to check this malpractice.
One killed in accident
One person was killed while another was injured when their scooter on which they were going collided with a Maruti car near Shehzadpur under Naraingarh sub-division yesterday. The victim was identified as Kuldip Singh while the person on the pillion Labh Singh sustained injuries and has been admitted in a hospital.
