CHANDIGARH, Dec 15:Regional Sports Board, Chandigarh set up title clash with RSB, Ranchi in the All India Civil Services hockey tournament being played at Sector 42 Hockey Stadium. In the semifnals today, Chandigarh outclassed Central Secretariat, Delhi, 5-1 while Ranchi scored a 1-0 win over RSB, Chennai.
In the Chandigarh-Delhi tie, the former dominated the encounter from the word go and were leading 3-0 at the lemon break.
Munish Sharma, Dalit Singh and Kulwant Singh were the marksmen in the first session.
After resumption, Gurdip Singh converted a 38th minute penalty stroke for Chandigarh to make it 4-0. Five minutes later Avtar Singh shot the last goal for the eventual winners (5-0).
In the dying moments of the game JS Nagi pulled one back for Delhi team (1-5).
In the second semifinal, after a barren first half, Navier Gidh scored match-winner for Ranchi in the 43rd minute.The final will be played tomorrow at 3 p.m.
