NEW DELHI, December 6: Zakir Husain College won the inter-college chess championship for the third year running to maintain their supremacy among the Capital’s colleges.
In the final round of eight teams played on Swiss league system, Zakir Husain College team, comprising Sandeep Chitkara (captain), Krishan Soni, Mohd Sulaiman, Rajesh Roshan, Ghanshyam Bhardwaj and Marshal Abraham, gave an excellent performance and collected 16.5 points out of the maximum possible 20 points.
Zakir Husain College were followed by Hansraj (12.5), Kirori Mal (11.5) and Swami Shradhanand (11.5).
Pelican triumph
Pelican and Pioneer won their matches beating Delhi Blues and Ravi Brothers, respectively, in the DDCA league.

Cambridge win
Fine all-round display by Neeraj Awana (5 for 10, 41) and good batting by Kunal Bhalla (54: 8×4, 1×6) helped hosts Cambridge School (Noida) beat Vishwabharati School (Vasant Kunj) by three wickets in the final of the second A C Deb memorial tournament at Cambridge School (Noida).
