CHANDIGARH, OCT 13: The Punjab Lok Shakti state advisory committee which met here today under the chairmanship of Lt Col P.J.S. Mehta (retd) defended the role of the UT Administrator and Punjab Governor Lt Gen B.K.N. Chhibber (retd) in the functioning of UT affairs.

The party also criticised the role of local unit of SAD in criticising the Administrator and alleged that since the SAD was not in tune with the arrangement of City’s bureaucracy they were issuing such statements.

The Lok Shakti party also called for extension to the UT Home Secretary which would be in the interest of UT. Among those who attended today’s meet included James Hatter, Balli Bajwa, Manjeet, P.K. Singla, Swaran Singh and M.S. Sandhu.

Meanwhile, the Citizens Forum of Chandigarh has also supported the extension of UT Home Secretary. A meeting held here today termed as unprovoked and unethical, the demand of recalling the Punjab Government and repatriating UT Home Secretary.
